My Silver Lining

It was such a dreary, overcast day, and I was suffering from an oppressive head cold. Still, work took me out to Folly Beach, and crossing the bridge, I caught a glimpse of pure serenity.  I found a place to park, walked out to the center of the bridge, and captured the moment...my silver lining to an otherwise dreary day.

Lake Moultrie - A Little Closer to Home

After a glorious two weeks in Europe, it's such a comfort to know such beauty can be found so close to home.

Dream Clouds

Though it looks like it could be in the Caribbean, this photo was actually taken in a neighborhood yard in Knightsville, SC. Sometimes all you have to do is look up.

September Serenity

This is a horse pasture on property that once belonged to Arthur Middleton, signer of the Declaration of Independence. The property is still maintained by his descendants, and is visible from the Middleton Inn.

Angel Oak in August

Reportedly the oldest thing -- living or man-made -- east of the Rockies, Angel Oak is a live oak tree aged approximately 1,500 years. Some locals simply call it The Tree.

Adventure in the Skies

Back in my Air Force days, boarding a C-17 meant I was going to work. Now that I'm retired, a C-17  ride means adventure and vacation!

The Drawing Room

What a blessed day!  The last two pictures, including the one above, are venues that I played at today.  I play at the Drawing Room on Vendue in downtown Charleston, frequently, but I never take it for granted.  This evening, I just took in the beautiful colors, and clouds as I waited for my performance time...a very lovely evening.  I thank the Lord for days such as this.

Hummingbird Surprise

I was out at Lake Moultrie today, and took a moment to admire this beautiful flowering bush when I heard the unmistakable sound of flapping wings.  I was not alone.

Easter Azalea

Taken just steps from the front door on this beautiful Easter morning.  It was as if the azaleas knew what day it was, and they were glorifying their Creator with the very best they had to offer.  He is risen....let heaven and nature sing.
